Ornamental Features:

Colorado Gold Gazania features showy yellow daisy flowers with gold eyes and a dark brown ring at the ends of the stems from early summer to early fall. It's attractive glossy narrow leaves remain dark green in colour with curious silver undersides throughout the season. The fruit is not ornamentally significant.

Landscape Attributes:

Colorado Gold Gazania is an herbaceous perennial with a ground-hugging habit of growth. It brings an extremely fine and delicate texture to the garden composition and should be used to full effect.

This perennial will require occasional maintenance and upkeep, and is best cleaned up in early spring before it resumes active growth for the season. It is a good choice for attracting butterflies and bees to your yard, but is not particularly attractive to deer who tend to leave it alone in favor of tastier treats. Colorado Gold Gazania will grow to be only 3 inches tall at maturity extending to 5 inches tall with the flowers, with a spread of 12 inches. Its foliage tends to remain low and dense right to the ground. It grows at a medium rate, and under ideal conditions can be expected to live for approximately 8 years.

This perennial should only be grown in full sunlight. It is very adaptable to both dry and moist growing conditions, but will not tolerate any standing water. It is not particular as to soil type or pH. It is somewhat tolerant of urban pollution. This plant can be propagated by division.
