Hardy Fuchsia features dainty nodding purple frilly flowers with pink bracts at the ends of the stems from mid summer to early fall, which emerge from distinctive red flower buds. It's attractive pointy leaves remain gold in colour throughout the year. The fruit is not ornamentally significant. The red stems can be quite attractive.

Hardy Fuchsia will grow to be about 30 inches tall at maturity, with a spread of 3 feet. Its foliage tends to remain dense right to the ground, not requiring facer plants in front. Although it's not a true annual, this fast-growing plant can be expected to behave as an annual in our climate if left outdoors over the winter, usually needing replacement the following year.
This annual bedding plant does best in full sun to partial shade. It does best in average to evenly moist conditions, but will not tolerate standing water. It is not particular as to soil type or pH. It is somewhat tolerant of urban pollution. This plant can be propagated by cuttings.
