Description:

This variety has beautiful oval, medium green leaves with a silver stripe; the short spiked pink flowers that bloom from May through September make it a wonderful ground cover; vigourous and fast growing, spread may need to be controlled

Pink Pearls Spotted Dead Nettle features beautiful spikes of pink flowers rising above the foliage from mid spring to late summer, which are most effective when planted in groupings. It's attractive oval leaves remain green in colour with prominent silver stripes throughout the season. The fruit is not ornamentally significant.

Plant Characteristics:

Pink Pearls Spotted Dead Nettle will grow to be only 6 inches tall at maturity extending to 8 inches tall with the flowers, with a spread of 24 inches. Its foliage tends to remain low and dense right to the ground. It grows at a fast rate, and under ideal conditions can be expected to live for approximately 10 years.

This perennial does best in partial shade to shade. It is an amazingly adaptable plant, tolerating both dry conditions and even some standing water. It is considered to be drought-tolerant, and thus makes an ideal choice for a low-water garden or xeriscape application. It is not particular as to soil type or pH. It is highly tolerant of urban pollution and will even thrive in inner city environments. This plant can be propagated by division.
