Hyssop's fragrant oval leaves remain forest green in colour throughout the season. It features beautiful spikes of lightly-scented powder blue flowers rising above the foliage in mid summer, which are most effective when planted in groupings. The flowers are excellent for cutting. The fruit is not ornamentally significant.
