California Sky Blue Lobelia features dainty sky blue flowers with white eyes at the ends of the stems from mid spring to mid fall. It's tiny narrow leaves remain green in colour throughout the season. The fruit is not ornamentally significant.

California Sky Blue Lobelia is an herbaceous annual bedding plant with a trailing habit of growth, eventually spilling over the edges of hanging baskets and containers. It brings an extremely fine and delicate texture to the garden composition and should be used to full effect.

This annual bedding plant should be grown in a location that is shaded from the hot afternoon sun. It does best in average to evenly moist conditions, but will not tolerate standing water. It is not particular as to soil type or pH. It is somewhat tolerant of urban pollution. This plant can be propagated by cuttings.
