Winky Red And White Columbine features showy red bell-shaped flowers with white overtones and buttery yellow eyes at the ends of the stems from late spring to early summer, which emerge from distinctive burgundy flower buds. The flowers are excellent for cutting. It's lobed compound leaves remain green in colour throughout the season. The fruit is not ornamentally significant.

Winky Red And White Columbine is an herbaceous perennial with an upright spreading habit of growth. It brings an extremely fine and delicate texture to the garden composition and should be used to full effect.

This is a relatively low maintenance perennial, and should be cut back in late fall in preparation for winter. Plant Characteristics:

Winky Red And White Columbine will grow to be about 16 inches tall at maturity, with a spread of 18 inches. Its foliage tends to remain dense right to the ground, not requiring facer plants in front. It grows at a medium rate, and under ideal conditions can be expected to live for approximately 5 years.

This perennial performs well in both full sun and full shade. It does best in average to evenly moist conditions, but will not tolerate standing water. It is not particular as to soil type or pH. It is somewhat tolerant of urban pollution. This plant can be propagated by division.
