Apex Fireplace has serviced my older gas fireplace a number of times over the years. Because I have a right shoulder injury and have limited mobility, today they installed a new wall switch for me free of charge. I highly recommend them.
Can’t recommend them highly enough. They went out of their way to install a Enviro fireplace in my chase. They put in a liner they had in stock as the liner I ordered wasn’t in and they wanted me to have a fireplace before Christmas, Thank heavens as my furnace quit running for over a week waiting for parts in the really cold -40 weather. This fireplace, and my downstairs one, kept us warm.
Very impressed with the maintenance work and new switch installed on my existing fireplace, Technician very polite and informative and cleaned up after did his work.
We recently had a Jotul F45 V2 Greenville wood stove installed by Mark and his team in our basement. We were very pleased with the process from start to finish. Very professional company. Highly recommend. When we replace the wood stove upstairs, we will definitely be calling Apex.
We hired Apex to remove our wood burning fireplace. They did an okay job removing it, but when it came to fixing what was left behind with flooring patches and openings to the outside and partial removal of the gas line, it was left to me to do this work properly which I understood was supposed to be part of the contract. They are also not good at communicating. Based on my experience I would not recommend this company for fire place removal
Good afternoon Brad Sorry to hear that your experience was less than stellar, as you can see from most reviews we want to ensure our customers are happy. Have you called in and spoke about this with anyone and expressed this concern? If not please do, as we want to make sure you are looked after, I would call you directly but as this post doesn't clarify who you are I don't want to assume and call the wrong Brad. As for the removal of the gas line, we would have the gas fitters do the removal should it be part of the scope of work and if this was not completed we would like to know so we can follow up. Again we are sorry and would like the opportunity to fix the situation that we were not aware of prior to this post.
Talk about amazing service! We were having issues with our gas fireplace in our house in Innisfail. We were referred to Mark with Apex. He went above and beyond to arrange to have one of his service technicians go into our home and fix the issue while we were living in another province. Trustworthy, professional and caring are three things that come to mind when I think of Apex. I will highly recommend this company in the future. Good job guys and thank you!!
The service was exceptional. Not only did he fix the problem, he clean the fireplace and repainted it. Then he clean the glass before putting it all back together. Unbelievable, these guys are the best.
We are extremely happy with the work Apex did in our home. They demolished the existing wood fireplace and replaced it with a new wood burning unit. Mark is very knowledgeable and had great suggestions and ideas. They were awesome to deal with, including all the different workers who were on site. Friendly, professional, responsive and very good at what they do. The cleanup after was very thorough. We would highly recommend them.

I would like to know why I cannot get my fire place serviced I have been waiting two weeks. I know covid is here. But to get a call about why. I paid a good chunk of money. For a company trying to keep a good Rep. Your failing.
Apex took out our old wood fireplace and constructed a beautiful new gas fireplace. Mark helped us design the fireplace to suit our home. Apex shrouded our living room to protect it from dust and debris and cleaned up when they were done. They were very professional in their work and did a beautiful job. Thanks Mark!!
My husband & I stopped there to see if by chance they had a grate for our outdoor fire pit. This isn’t usually something anyone has, but he dug around his yard & found us one. Super friendly & helpful. Thanks again
We had Apex Fireplaces remove a old drafty brick wood burning fireplace and had them install an Enviro C44 Linear gas fireplace with a TV above. From start to finish we were very pleased with their knowledge and professionalism.Mark and his crew went up and belong our expectation. We would highly recommend Apex for any fireplace work.
Amazing service. Very professional from everyone we interacted with. Had a wood stove installed, cleaned and inspected. Everyone answered all of our questions. When the men installed the stove they were very particular to ensure the stove was perfectly spaced down to 1/16 of an inch. They were very clean and didn’t have any mess when they were finished. Excellent work. Just moved into a new house, Mark and his team did an awesome job not only installing our Napoleon fireplace but also re-routing our tv cable, plug ins and prepping our wall for the tv bracket. Would highly recommend them.

Service Tech Jim was beyond my expectation in service, knowledge and wanting to ensure customer satisfaction. Normally a person just wants to to leave a service tech alone to do their job... truth be known I was so satisfied with Jim’s approach I wanted to learn from from him and I did. Not distracting from his task at hand he was more than willing to educate me on NG fireplace ins & outs so much so I was more interested in learning what he had to say than going about my other commitments for the day. I would have no hesitation on recommending Apex for any service requirements... from Colleen’s prompt responses and Jim’s knowledge and recommendations... these folks are 5 out of 5. I was very impressed with Jim from Apex who responded to my request for a troubleshooting call. Our gas insert is 22 years old and he completely cleaned it and corrected a wiring problem. Jim showed up when he was supposed to and was very professional. The cost was also reasonable and I would recommend him to anyone.

I want to Thank You Matt for sending your fireplace Tech "Jim" to service our gas fireplace. Wow were we impressed by this very experienced gentleman's attitude & work care & skills! He taught me many things about our gas fireplace as to the 'how & why' of its many parts/functions & instructions as to proper use & care of it. He was very efficient & particular in his work & I ended up complimenting him several times as it was such a fresh experience to see an employee work so diligently - and this was without any employer present to keep him doing a good job. He never even wasted time by choosing to go on his cell phone, as too many employees do nowadays! I was raised in a family business & we always found it difficult to get good staff. I have been in management & also in business for many years & would like to Congratulate you for being able to have a respectable business & a sharing with us such a great employee to take care of our needs. The Apex team did a great job. We did a full exterior renovation on our house and not only did Apex do an excellent job on the stonework, Mark provide some overall ideas and recommended other contractors for other parts of the job who were all really good. He also brought Lyle over who drafted some options for what the overall look could be (i.e. siding and trim colours) which was quite helpful in the visualization. Mark also recommended a fairly simple change to the soffit area above the door that really helped it stand out. We are very pleased with the results and enjoyed working with Apex.
Thank you to the staff at Apex. We were in the process of installing a new fireplace and ran into a snag. Googled the nearest dealer and arrived on Saturday morning with venting that made no sense. The welcoming receptionist said she would get someone to help us us. Lucky for us, Matthew introduced himself (on his day off)! We explained our dilemma and he realized the calgary supplier forgot to include the necessary adaptor. Well Matthew went back to the supply area and picked one up, showed us how the venting worked and even provided some scrap tin we needed. WOW! So impressed with this store and it's employees! We will be back and recommend Apex to anyone needing fireplaces, supplies, and great advice!
Just want to thank Apex Fireplace for helping us out to repair our fireplace. Matt Jones arranged for Jim to come and fix it. Wow!! I can't thank Apex enough. The service technician arrived early and was conscientious and fixed our fireplace in less than 20 minutes. He also explained what we could do if this problem occurred in the future. Our fireplace was not one that Apex initially installed. The supplier of our fireplace (Mr Fireplace in Calgary) had all sorts of additional charges and excuses as to why they could not come to Drumheller to repair it. I am SO Impressed with Apex Fireplace. Thanks again!!
A friend recommend Apex Fireplace when we were replacing our wood fireplace with a gas one. We are very grateful to her because we couldn't have made a better decision. I can't say enough good things about Apex Fireplaces. We needed to have our older fireplace serviced quickly to accommodate someone arriving to stay the next day. Matt was able to schedule a service appointment for the same day we called!! Jim was an answer to our prayers. He took the unit totally apart and diagnosed the issues and miraculously arrived with all the correct tools and parts. -- what a concept as this is not always the case in our fireplace experience! He made it all work and cleaned the glass, making it look brand new. All this at a very reasonable cost which we appreciated on our fixed senior income. Went in looking for a wood stove fireplace and they had a pacific energy super 27 and i was happy with the the quality and style of the stove. From the time we had the installation location figured were it was only 2 weeks from that time to it being installed. very happy with the time frame. I was not home on installation day but my wife was and she was happy with the installers. Their work was professional and they were nice guys.
Wanting to have our red brick fireplace modernized, we made a trip to talk to the people at Apex. We were treat with great respect from the first day and felt very comfortable with Matt and the staff in the store. As we were not exactly sure what we wanted, we made several visits for discussions and were always welcomed and helped in every way possible. Once we had decided, Matt and also Mark, the owner and Master Stonemason, came to our home to offer further advice and suggestions. The work was started on the scheduled day, the two workmen who dismantled the old fireplace were very respectful of us and our home and worked really hard. Each day before they left they cleaned the area and returned the following day at the time they had told us. The new fireplace was actually built while we were away on vacation.....we had been promised we would be over the moon on our return and we certainly were! We would recommend Apex to anyone.....they did an awesome job and we still look at our fireplace and say WOW! Well done guys! Mavis and Frank.
Apex did an amazing job on our fireplace. The old one needed to be replaced and a new one put in. Their staff was amazing. Daniel and Jordan did a wonderful job of removing the old one with as little mess as possible and the removal of a small amount of the tile surround. The tiler, Marty was amazing. She was patient, precise and very accommodating. We are extremely pleased with result.
I first talked to Matt on the phone, then my husband and I went in July 5th 2016. We talked to Matt about getting a firepit for our deck, no problem he said, we also talked with Mark, they gave us some suggestions and had a piece of Granite that would work great. I then talked to Matt about price and when Mark would have it ready, was told 3 weeks. As of today Oct 23rd 2016 we still have not received our firepit all we are getting is excuse after excuse! They do not return phone calls. All I want to know is if they will make the firepit or not! Very discouraging!
I walked into Apex Fireplaces looking for some ideas on fireplace mantles. Their Showroom is an impressive display of some of the work that they do. Through discussions with Mark and Matt it changed the scope of my fireplace remodel. They were so awesome at helping me with ideas and suggestions on what and how to do my project. I'm a do it your self guy so they could have just sent me on my way but it was quite the opposite. I was very impressed and grateful for all their help. Would absolutely recommend them for any projects, whether you want to do it yourself (their stone is beautiful!) or have a professional do the job right, they are true craftsman and all around really great guys!
We would like to thank Matt and Mark and the rest of the team at Apex for the great service when we bought our new gas fireplace insert. They were friendly, helpful, and professional. They even patched some holes in my ceiling that were left by the gas guy! This was not expected but greatly appreciated! I would definitely recommend Apex to anyone looking to put in a fireplace. Mark and his team did not hesitate to take on a job that was 2hours away from Red Deer . They installed on time and returned to do the masonry to fit our cabinetry schedule. They were good enough to come back once we tried the fireplace and thought it maybe not working perfectly. A couple minor adjustments and we are able to enjoy a beautiful fireplace. Well done Apex

If you need a mason, or a fireplace THIS IS YOUR BEST CHOICE!! Mark at Apex is top notch in the business!! He knows his product, he knows his business and he trains his staff to a high standard. Mark is integral and easy to deal with. We were renovating and while back when Mark and staff were there to do mason work on our fireplace, upon entering our home, Mark saw that the siding contractor was having issues with the front windows. As timing would have it, the brick base of our front bay window needed to be removed. Mark immediately stopped and offered to remove it promptly and properly so work on windows could commence. The windows were being installed as Mark and his staff worked on our fireplace wich is AMAZING!!! Then a couple days later he sent his staff over to replace and finish those window bricks and they did a great job!! We are amazed at how easy he was to deal with. He was integral and offered really great (invaluable) advice during our planning stage with the fireplace. Don't even waste your energy calling all the other guys!! I did the work for you!! I screened 4 other brick masons. APEX is the best!! Mark was the only one who actually sincerely cared about what we wanted and what he was doing (creating) and his advice was so helpful! Thank you Mark!
GREAT SERVICE Thank you Matthew!! After much frustration trying to get some service with our original fireplace installers we found Apex Fireplaces They were VERY helpful and arranged for the gasfitter to help as well. SO HAPPY to have a working fireplace again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND
