Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with poses or asanas that are held for longer periods of time: three to five minutes or longer per pose is typical. Yin yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues—tendons, fascia, and ligaments as well as joints—with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. The poses are also designed to improve the flow of qi, the subtle energy said in Chinese medicine to run through the meridian pathways of the body. Improved qi flow is hypothesized to improve organ health, immunity and emotional well-being. As a more meditative approach to yoga, Yin aims at cultivating awareness of one’s inner silence and bringing to light a universal, interconnecting quality.
This class is great for those with injuries, tight joints and muscles or anyone looking to slow down and experience a deep stretch. Students of all levels welcome. If you are pregnant, please consult your health care provider and let the instructor know.

Join Megan from Solum Yoga and Reiki as well as Vintage Earth Creations for a Children's Make your own Bracelet/ Meditation. In this class the children will be making their own gemstone bracelet, then we will be learning how to meditate with that bracelet.
This type of meditation is very similar as meditating with your Mala beads, also known as Japa Meditation. Japa meditation is a mantra meditation which is repeating the same mantra over and over, so that the mind can focus on one thought.
Megan graduated from Red Deer College in 2012 with a diploma in Social Work, and has worked with many different children ranging from high behaviours to special needs, and has recently left the field of Human Services to pursue her passion to work directly with the gemstones, and children. Megan is also a Reiki Master and intuitive.

Hatha is a general category that includes most yoga styles. It is an old system that includes the practice of asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (yoga breathing exercises), which help bring peace to the mind and body, preparing the body for deeper spiritual practices such as meditation. Most forms of yoga in the West can be classified as Hatha Yoga. Hatha simply refers to the practice of physical yoga postures, meaning your Ashtanga, vinyasa, Iyengar and Power Yoga classes are all Hatha Yoga. The word “hatha” can be translated two ways: as “willful” or “forceful,” or the yoga of activity, and as “sun” (ha) and “moon” (tha), the yoga of balance. Hatha practices are designed to align and calm your body, mind, and spirit in preparation for meditation.

What is Astral projection?
It is an out of body experience, where we explore other worlds and dimensions through meditation or dreams.
In astral projection the conscious mind leaves the physical body and moves into the astral body to experience. In astral projection you remain attached to your physical body by a 'silver umbilical type cord'. Some people are able to see the cord when astral projecting.When you astral project you are consciously aware of things you encounter while out of your physical body.
Join me in this guided meditation to experience or learn how you can begin astral projecting, or continue working on your process using me as your guide. Some people have a fear that holds them back, practicing in a safe and controlled environment can help.
Wear loose clothing, bring a yoga mat, cushion and blanket. There will be extras but the supply is limited to first come first serve.
